When it comes to children’s parties, there’s nothing more magical than bringing their favorite theme to life. Last year, I had the joy of planning a Malibu Barbie–themed 5th birthday party in Woodland Hills — and it was every bit as vibrant, playful, and memorable as you’d imagine.
The Theme
Inspired by the sunny, glamorous world of Malibu Barbie, the party was designed with a palette of bright pinks, turquoise blues, and sunny yellows. Every element was chosen to create a world where our birthday girl and her guests could feel like they stepped right into Barbie’s dream house by the beach.
The Décor
We transformed the space into a Malibu-inspired paradise with:
A custom Barbie photo backdrop for the perfect Instagram-worthy moments.
Balloon garlands in Barbie’s signature colors.
Themed table settings with Barbie plates, cups, and napkins.
Lounge-style seating areas for kids to relax between activities.
The Food & Cake
The menu was bright and fun, just like the theme:
Colorful treats and snacks served in Barbie-themed containers.
A custom birthday cake designed to look like Barbie’s dream car parked on a Malibu beach.
The GstrDidIt Touch
As Grace Azuike of GstrDidIt, my goal was to make sure the birthday girl felt celebrated at every turn. From the curated color palette to the kid-friendly seating and activity flow, every detail was planned to keep the day stress-free for the parents and magical for the guests.
It was a day full of smiles, laughter, and memories — exactly what a 5th birthday should be.
